How to choose ceramic flower pots
Divided from the whole, the ceramic basin can be divided into two types, one is directly fired with clay, no glaze pottery basin; The other is a ceramic basin that is glazed during firing to make its surface smoother.
The clay pot is a pot made of natural clay. Compared with plastic, the clay material has many small holes on the surface that are invisible to the eyes, which makes it more breathable. The pot made of clay material, the internal air circulation is stronger, the degree of water evaporation is slightly faster, the vast majority of flower varieties can be planted, especially the soil permeability requirements are relatively high, the root system is more delicate plants, such as a variety of orchids, bulbous begonia, meaty plants and so on.
The price of clay POTS is usually higher than that of plastic POTS, but it is expensive for a reason. From the use of time, compared with the short life of the plastic flower pot, as long as there is no accident to break the pot, the clay pot can be used forever.
In addition to easy to break and higher prices, red pottery flower POTS have another disadvantage is easy to caustic soda. After a long time, it will precipitate white alkaline substances on the surface of the pot, and it is difficult to remove. For the pursuit of perfect flower friends, this is still very beautiful.
There is also a glazed ceramic flowerpot. This kind of pot is glazed when it is fired, and the surface of the pot is glazed. It feels very smooth, looks very shiny, and can come in many different colors. From an aesthetic point of view, the ceramic basin with glaze is undoubtedly the most beautiful.
Because the surface has enamel, the original porosity of the clay material will be blocked by the enamel and lose the ventilation. Glazed ceramic POTS often have poor air circulation inside, and water evaporation is slow, which is not suitable for plants with high soil permeability requirements. Like plastic pots, glazed ceramic pots are better for plants that like moist soil.
